This publication is the culmination of the extended effort where chapters identified and prioritized the environmental issues of greatest concern for our network. The draft Education and Outreach Statements were shared for any additional review and input. Thank you to the individuals who suggested revisions. These are “living documents” and represent opportunities for potential action. The Council will use each of these Education and Outreach Statements as a basis to schedule issue focused sessions on an “issue-by-issue” basis. We will endeavor to conduct these workshops with conservation partners and feature the work of selected chapters active with the issue. These Education and Outreach Statement will also serve as a basis for “Action Alerts” and other actions for which we will invite our chapter network to support.
There are additional Education and Outreach Statements in production related to Important Bird Areas, Funding Environmental Agencies, Supporting our State Parks and Public Lands, and more. We welcome suggestions and reactions.
