Priority Conservation Issues - Pennsylvania Audubon Council

In 2021, the Pennsylvania Audubon Council initiated a collaborative process with chapters from across the state to review and rank an extensive list of issues generated by their network. Their work, led by Jim Bonner of Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania, resulted in this collection of Education and Outreach Statements.

The format of the Education and Outreach Statements embodied this approach, crafting a two-page statement for each: the first page providing a brief overview and the second offering potential opportunities for engagement at the individual, community, and state (or Federal) levels. Care was taken to provide a range of options, recognizing that actions around any given issue would need be determined chapter leadership, taking into account their unique blend of interests, geography, membership, and capacity.

The Council recognizes that these Statements help to frame how we can network, collaborate, and provide support for one another as we advance each of our priority issues. The resources that follow are “living documents” that will undergo periodic update and review.
